Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – As part of its commitment to advancing education and talent development in the Dominican Republic, Hodelpa Hospitality joined the Teacher Externship Program, an initiative led by the Iniciativa Empresarial para la Educación Técnica (IEET) in partnership with allied organizations and the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD).

The initiative is an immersive business and professional development program designed for teachers in Technical and Vocational Education. Its purpose is to connect educators with the day-to-day realities of the country’s productive sectors while helping them update their knowledge in line with current industry trends and evolving workforce needs.

As part of its first participation in the program, Hodelpa Hospitality welcomed 47 teachers, who had the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into hotel operations, exchange experiences with Hodelpa associates, and become familiar with the processes, skills, and competencies currently required in the tourism industry.

Participants were welcomed at Hodelpa Gran Almirante, Hodelpa Garden Suites, Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata, Hodelpa Caribe Colonial, and Hodelpa Nicolás de Ovando, with sessions held across the four destinations where the hospitality group operates: Santiago, Juan Dolio, Puerto Plata, and Santo Domingo.

Miguel Núñez, Culture and Organizational Development Coordinator at Hodelpa Hospitality, highlighted the importance of the initiative in strengthening the connection between the business sector and technical education.
