Gastronomy in Juan Dolio
Eating in the abundant and good restaurants in Guayacanes on Central Street and in Juan Dolio on Bulevar or Main Street, attracts hundreds of people to this area of the beach, especially on weekends.
Las Américas International Airport
Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), also known as José Francisco Peña Gómez Airport, is located 30 minutes from the capital city, Santo Domingo. It is one of the main and largest air terminals in the Dominican Republic, since it ranks second in regular passenger flow in the country.
Los Marlins Golf Course
Located at the Metro Country Club in Juan Dolio–just 30 minutes’ drive east of Santo Domingo’s international airport–the 18-hole course features numerous artistic bunkers, and lakes and mounds that perfectly complement the surrounding beauty of the Caribbean Sea.
Barceló Rum Historical Center
Opened in 2012, the Barceló Rum Historical Center offers a comprehensive museum display on the history of rum making in the country, its role in the culture, and Barceló’s manufacturing process.
Cueva de las Maravillas
Located between San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana, this enormous cave system houses hundreds of well-preserved Taino pictographs and petroglyphs dating back thousands of years.
Dominican Winter
Professional Baseball League
From mid-October to the end of January it’s baseball time in the Dominican Republic. During this season there will be games with the best of the Dominican Winter Professional Baseball League playing 15 minutes away from Juan Dolio.
Playa Juan Dolio
Blessed with both waves and calmer areas, the beach lines Juan Dolio’s main road–Calle Principal–and is punctuated with seafront bars, restaurants, condominiums, and villas.
Playa Guayacanes

Alto Velo Wreck
A small tugboat, the Alto Velo sunk off the waters of Playa Caribe on the southeastern coast. Resting at eight meters (26 feet), an ideal depth for beginners, it quickly turned into an artificial reef surrounded with abundant marine life.
