1990
Hodelpa, S.A.
The experience of renowned businessmen Edmundo Aja, from the real estate industry, and José Hernández, from the financial and transportation sector, have joined forces to bring to Santiago de los Caballeros and the country hotels with the characteristics and standards of the most modern international hotels. Thus was born the company Hoteles del País, SA.
1992
Hodelpa Gran Almirante
On the occasion of the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Christopher Columbus to the island, the date of October 12, 1992 was chosen to inaugurate the most imposing hotel in the city of Santiago. From that moment on, the people of Santiago made its facilities their own, turning its restaurants and bars, discotheque, casino and lounges into the preferred places for leisure, family celebrations, and large social and professional events. Since then, our Gran Hotel de Santiago has been the number one lodging option for those who spend the night in the city.
1993
Hodelpa Centro Plaza
What was previously known as the Santiago Camino Real hotel was acquired by our company, completely remodeled and converted into the Hodelpa Centro Plaza. The most familiar of our hotels is located in the heart of traditional Santiago, surrounded by Victorian and neoclassical mansions, parks, churches, restaurants and stores that evoke the dawn of the second most important city in the country. It has the only restaurant in the city with a view of the historic center and a clientele so loyal and repetitive that they consider this hotel their true home in Santiago.
1996
Hodelpa Bavaro Resort
With this charming beachfront hotel, our company begins a successful real estate journey on the impressive east coast of the island: The Bávaro-Punta Cana area The Hodelpa Bavaro Resort was the first of several resorts developed and operated by us. It was the time of the great take-off of this destination, so the big European chains came to the area eager to invest; acquiring the land and hotels in the area with very good purchase offers. It was the perfect time to sell this and other hotels that we would continue to build in the area.
2000
Hodelpa Caribe Club
The real estate success of our first resort in Bávaro Punta Cana motivated us to continue developing larger and more majestic projects. The Hodelpa Caribe Club was an icon in the eastern zone due to the impressive architecture and ambiance achieved by the Dominican architect Sarah García, who projected in its spaces the interesting mix of influences of a Caribbean artist trained in Florence, Italy. Its discotheque Areíto, decorated by the artist Sissy Bermúdez, became the favorite place of amusement of the whole area. As happened with the Hodelpa Bávaro, this Resort was immediately sought after by the different Spanish chains that had already established themselves in the area, which led to a new transaction for the sale of the property in order to continue with other developments.
2001
Hodelpa Caribbean Colonial
The old Santo Domingo or Colonial City, with its 5 centuries of history, was the setting chosen by us to build our first hotel in the capital, the Hodelpa Caribe Club. Located on Isabel La Católica Street, a strategic street for its location and accessibility, just steps from the first Cathedral of America, near monuments, parks and stores. The building is in Art Deco style, an architectural style that became popular in the city in the 1950s. The Hodelpa Caribe Colonial is intimate, warm and cozy, which allows for a family atmosphere full of extra personalized services that motivates our guests to always return to their home in the Colonial Zone.
2003
Ocean Club Beach & Resort
After the impact of the Hodelpa Caribe Club, we had the challenge of surpassing ourselves. We definitely succeeded with the Ocean Club. Hand in hand, once again, with Architect Sarah Garcia, we achieved a Resort that impressed everyone who visited it. Its immense swimming pools, themed restaurants, fountains and gardens, its majestic lobby and a road full of entertainment venues that included the first bowling alley in the East Zone, among many other offers, turned the Ocean Club into a favorite of young people and all those who were looking for a vacation full of fun and adventure. Its popularity, of course, caught the attention of another European hotel chain whose attractive offer allowed it to acquire the most popular hotel in Bávaro-Punta Cana.
2008
Hodelpa Garden Court
In order to offer our clientele a hotel close to the Cibao International Airport, our company incorporated to its portfolio what until then was a franchise of an American chain, located just 10 minutes from the airport. The Hodelpa Garden Court is a favorite of airline crews and guests who for various reasons prefer the outskirts of the city and the proximity to other towns in the area. The La Canela area, located just before the city, is known for its beautiful farms and green areas, which delight all lovers of greenery and nature. Its impeccable standards, modern services and contemporary spaces are ideal for those accustomed to the highest level of international lodging.
2016
Hodelpa Nicolás de Ovando
2016 was for Hodelpa Hotels the great year of the Colonial Zone. This is the year in which we incorporated the palace that served as the residence of Fray Nicolás de Ovando, the first governor of America, into our offer of accommodations and events. Five centuries of history told in its imposing arches, gates and walls, its charming interior courtyards in the 16th century Spanish style, its location in the most stately of colonial streets: Las Damas Street, its colonial rooms and impeccable service make the Hodelpa Nicolás de Ovando the Grand Hodelpa Hotel of Santo Domingo.

Novus Plaza Hodelpa
The colonial city of Santo Domingo attracts a large number of young, adventurous travelers who want to experience the local culture. The Novus Plaza Hodelpa, located on the only pedestrian street in the area, has opened its doors especially for this type of guest. El Conde Street is an active and vibrant artery, where artistic exhibits and commercial establishments abound. There, the inhabitants of the area dance and play instruments, participate in chess games, music classes are given to children, among other daily activities. Casa Real by Hodelpa
The magical environment of the Colonial Zone, its beauty, architecture and uniqueness make it the most desirable place for weddings, social, professional and artistic events. These reasons motivated us to transform a stately mansion from the XVI century, protagonist of great historical, commercial and social moments, into our first Event and Convention Center in Santo Domingo. Casa Real offers a large interior courtyard framed by two levels of galleries and two large air-conditioned rooms to adapt to the nature and particularity of each event. Its beauty and colonial air are the main attraction and the ideal setting for each celebration.
